I’m a Melbourne-based photographer specialising in portraiture and narrative-driven campaigns across the advertising, editorial, and arts sectors.
My background in graphic design definitely shapes how I see through the lens. I’ve always been interested in the structure and composition of an image, not just how it looks, but how it functions within a campaign and how it speaks to an audience.
Whether I’m working with a high-profile subject or on a large-scale commercial set, my approach is usually the same: keep things calm, stay collaborative, and make sure the final result feels both considered and distinctive.
Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to work with some of Australia’s leading agencies and cultural institutions, creating work that balances a clear creative vision with the practical needs of the brief.

Head On Photo Festival Semi Finalist 2023
I was fortunate to have two images selected as semi-finalists for this year’s Head On Photo Festival. The first was in the portrait category, Dave Graney at his home which I took for The Guardian earlier this year. And in the landscape category my image titled Dive which I took in New Zealand of a neglected diving pool.

Moran Prize Semi Finalist 2019
I was pretty excited to have not one but three images selected as semi finalists for last year's Moran Prize. The first is a portrait of Castlemaine artist Hilary Finch, the second a documentation of the drought in central Queensland, and the third Chan Nyok who came to Australia as a refugee from Sudan.

Moran Prize Semi Finalist 2018
After years of entering The Moran Contemporary Photography Prize and receiving emails saying "unfortunately you did not make the shortlist" I was expecting the same this year and did a double take when I saw the line: "We are very pleased to congratulate you on your selection as a semi-finalist in this year's prize." for not one but both my submitted images. Lucy and David both taken on my wife's (Lucy) farm in central Queensland.
Winter - Exhibition
Winter is a series of photographs taken during the New Zealand winter of 2016 by Melbourne photographer Charlie Kinross. The photographs focus on the tranquility of these serene outdoor spaces. But the vastness of these spectacular vistas, combined with an absence of humanity, also brings an element of desolation to the works.
