This year, in June and July, Lucy and I took the kids on a 6 week holiday in the UK, France and Switzerland. It was quite the adventure, and you know, quite an ordeal at times traveling with young kids. I had to sort of watch my memories of previous trips as a free, pre-parent young man pass by in a parallel universe with some envy, but I also remember that version of myself yearning for what I have now, so it’s important to remember there is green grass on both sides. We certainly made a lot of good memories and it was great to witness the kids’ minds expanding to take in a bigger world.

Photo kit wise, I forced myself to only bring two small lenses, a 50mm and a 35mm, and I ended up using the 50mm most of the time. It’s my go to lens for holidays, compact and versatile, you can capture landscapes, streetscapes but it’s also great for portraits.
